The Boston Piano Company was formed in 1991 in a collaboration between Steinway & Sons and Kawai, with the aim of producing a top-quality instrument at a mid-range price. Drawing on the experience of Steinway, development of the piano took six years to complete, using sophisticated computer technology to test the designs and materials.
